Our fonts are released in TrueType format (.ttf) and are compatible on most modern desktop operating systems such as MacOS, Microsoft Windows, and Linux. On those systems, you should be able to use the fonts with any program you want, such as Inkscape, Scribus, Word, etc. If you need the fonts in other formats such as OTF or WOFF2 for web development, then please use an online file conversion tool like CloudConvert.
The fonts are also compatible with most modern browsers on both desktop and mobile, such as Google Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and more. These fonts were originally made for publishing, printing, and filmsetting (film/photo typesetting), but can be used on websites and web apps. If you use the fonts for web development (websites or web apps), then they should work on all devices.
All of our fonts are available for download on our Downloads Page or on FontCheckout. They are all released under the SIL Open Font License, which means you can use them for free, and even modify them if you need! However, you MUST abide by the terms of the license.
Please note that these fonts DO NOT work on the Google Docs Suite and CANNOT be installed on Chromebooks or mobile/tablet devices. There may be workarounds, but we don’t provide those solutions or tech support.
The Open Font License allows for distributors to include “Reserved Font Names,” which means you MUST change the name of the font you are modifying. To see ITG’s RFNs, click here.
